PlayStation Network has been down worldwide since the evening of February 7, affecting online games, with over 71,000 reports of the problem worldwide.

On February 8, 2015, BBC News reported that the PlayStation network, a game service provider from Sony, experienced a service outage for several hours since Friday evening. Sony’s PlayStation Network page stated that the PlayStation Video account management page, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Direct website were all experiencing problems.

Although the problem did not affect offline gamers, it directly affected online games, such as Fortnite, Call of Duty, GTA, and Marvel Rivals, because they could not be accessed.The PlayStation Support page says that they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix as soon as possible. According to the outage reporting website Down Detector, the issue began shortly before midnight on February 7, with more than 71,000 reports.

Some gamers have posted on social media that they are still experiencing the issue, while the PlayStation Support page’s social media channels have been flooded with complaints from gamers around the world.

The BBC has reached out to PlayStation and Call of Duty developer Activision Blizzard for comment.

The researchers explained the details at the astronomy meeting of the American Astronomical Society in San Diego last week. They used two theories to calculate how long it would take for Earth to receive contact from our fellow universe members.

Both theories help explain why the wait could be longer than a thousand years.

The first theory is called the Fermi Paradox, which states that there are billions of stars that are similar to Earth in many ways, but there is no contact that we, as humans, can detect.

The contradiction that the theory tries to point out is that there is a high possibility that there should be contact from other stars to Earth. But that has not happened yet.

Scientists say that our galaxy is full of stars and is still considered a small galaxy compared to other galaxies in the vast universe.

Another theory is called the Mediocrity Principle, which dates back to Copernicus in the 16th century. It states that Earth’s physical features are not particularly special, and therefore unlikely to be easily noticed by aliens.
